iPad Information
General Information
A student will be issued an iPad during the rollout process at the student’s campus if the student and parent have signed the respective agreements. The device is on loan to the student for educational purposes and remains the property of Midway ISD. The right of the student to use the device is limited to and conditional upon the student’s full and complete compliance with the Student Responsible Use Agreement which is available www.midwayisd.org/studentrua.
Care and Maintenance of the iPad
Never leave an iPad unattended. When not in a student’s personal possession, the iPad should be in a secure, locked environment.
The iPad comes with a case to protect the device. The case must remain on the iPad at all times. The case must remain free of stickers, writing, painting, or any other forms of decoration.
The iPad is an electronic and fragile device. Care must be exercised when handling the iPad. The device should never be tossed or thrown. Never place the iPad in a bag that contains food, liquids, heavy or sharp objects. Avoid placing weight on the iPad.
Clean the iPad with a microfiber cloth. Never apply liquids to the device.
Care must be taken when plugging and unplugging accessories. Student-issued iPad accessories are the responsibility of the student.
Each iPad has a unique inventory sticker on the device. At no time should this sticker be modified or removed.
If the iPad fails to work, immediately report the problem to the homeroom teacher (grades K-6) or lab assistant (secondary).
Students in grades 7-12 should never leave the iPad in a vehicle for long lengths of time or overnight. Heat, cold, and moisture can damage the device. If the device is left in a locked vehicle for a short time, the iPad should not be left exposed to viewing through the windows. Devices should not be left in student vehicles while students are attending a school event (athletic event, concert, etc.)
