Digtial Communication and Collaboration

Digtial Communication and Collaboration

Communication and collaboration skills are essential for success in the workforce. With the growing use of digital tools in professional settings it is important for students to learn how to work synchronously and asynchronously using a variety of devices and programs. Students at Midway High School are utilizing Google apps such as Google Docs, Sheets, and Slides on their iPads to refine their communication and collaboration skills. While analyzing the novel To Kill a Mockingbird, English III students used the unique features of Google to collaboratively design digital presentations. Student teams researched literary allusions from the novel. Then, after selecting a Google app to collaborate with, each student used their iPad to add information, images, and an analysis of the allusion to the group’s presentation. The students did an excellent job utilizing their devices to communicate, collaborate, and complete the group project.
