Making Books Come to Life

Careers in the 21st century require our students to have good listening skills, speaking skills, and to be a good team player. Kristen Holland, third grade teacher at Castleman Creek Elementary, used the iPads in her classroom to allow students to practice those skills in an authentic way. After a book study on the novel, Frindle, students worked as a team to interview the main character. Using the point of view of Nick Allen, they created questions and answers to use in their interview. After videoing the interview, they were tasked with editing their video in iMovie. Title slides, transitions, music, and credits were added to make their videos seem more realistic. Check out the video below for more details!
